Ebola Virus Disease also known as Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever (EHF) or simply Ebola caused by Ebola virus. The disease was first identified in 1976 in two simultaneous outbreaks, one in Nzara and the other in Yambuka, a village near the Ebola river from which disease takes it's name. Ebola disease spreads only by direct contact with the blood or other body fluids of a person who has developed symptoms of the disease. Body fluids that may contain Ebola viruses includes saliva, mucus, vomit, feces, sweat, tears, breast milk, urine and semen. Hiii guys..... Today my topic is on Nipah Virus Infection (NiV). Before knowing the preventive measures of this disease one must know what actually the Nipah is..... Nipah Virus Infection (NiV) is a viral disease and caused by Nipah virus of genome Henipavirus. It is a zoonotic disease i.e transmitted between animals and humans. The disease was first identified in fruit bats in 1998 in Malaysia and Singapore. It is named after a village in Malaysia, Sungai Nipah. Why we have to know about the preventive measures of this disease? The main reason is that there is no effective treatment for the disease, treatment is limited to supportive care. PREVENTIVE MEASURES 1) Avoid exposure to bats in endemic areas and sick pig. 2) Avoid drinking of raw palm sap contaminated by bat excrete. 3) Avoid eating of fruit partially consumed by bats.
